📢 We're moving our documentation to a new system on July 1. Check out the new version now. 📢
UDOIT

UDOIT – or the Universal Design Online Content Inspection Tool – is a tool available in all Canvas courses that scans your course and flags any accessibility issues, and provides information on how to fix the issues. UDOIT  scans for typical accessibility issues including:

  • Use of headings in page structure
  • Alternative text for images
  • Table headers
  • Color contrast
  • Video captions

Notably, UDOIT does NOT scan files that you upload to Canvas – for example, Word documents, PowerPoint slides, and PDF files. See our Creating Accessible Digital Materials resource page for more information on how to create accessible docs, slides, and PDFs.

Access

UDOIT is already installed in all Canvas courses.
