On Saturday, June 25, we began filming a video for the Kathryn Wasserman Davis School of Russian pre-immersion site. The video will focus on how students in the School of Russian deal with the Language Pledge, a trademark of Middlebury’s Language Schools.

Here are some pictures from our day of filming. We heard great stories from students about why they are studying Russian (favorite story: It started with a cute Russian boy I met at summer camp and, years later, I was married to that Russian boy and we wanted to raise a bilingual family) to the tactics they use to honor the Language Pledge even when they forget words in Russian. Thank you to the students who agreed to be interviewed for the video, to the bilinguals who led the interviews (Alice & Sasha), and to our production gurus Sonja, Joe, and Danielle. These videos will help many students to understand and adjust to the Language Pledge.
