Installing WordPress on MiddCreate

Overview

WordPress is a powerful and intuitive way to create web content. It can be used for creating websites and spaces for writing, self-expression, professional, academic, or creative e-portfolios, as well as course and dynamic project sites. WordPress is open source software and currently powers more than 30% of the websites on the Internet. WordPress can be installed on your MiddCreate domain.

Get Started

  1. Log in to MiddCreate.
  2. On your CPanel, locate the Featured Applications and click WordPress.
  3. Click Install this Application in the upper righthand corner.
  4. By default, the installer will name the installation directory as “blog.” If you want to install WordPress on your domain without a directory (e.g., example.middcreate.net versus example.middcreate.net/blog), delete the “blog” directory name.
  5. Info about back-ups?
  6. Update the admin username and password so that you will be able to remember and use that information to log in directly to the WordPress instance.
  7. Click Install.
  8. Once installed, you’ll be able to manage your WordPress installation by clicking the wp-admin link to your WP instance.
