DLINQ instructional designer Dr. Jeni Henrickson worked with the University of Minnesota (UMN), ESRI, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation on this online learning environment for middle and high school students when she was creative director at the Learning Technologies Media Lab at UMN. EarthXplorers scaffolds both teachers and students in the use and integration of ArcGIS in the classroom while promoting geoliteracy and spatial thinking skills; enhancing historical literacy and understanding of why historical preservation matters; inspiring kids and classrooms to visit state and national parks; and scaffolding and inspiring teachers and students to use ArcGIS for local environmental, economic, and social problem solving. Visit the EarthXplorers website (you’ll need to create a free account to login and view the full site).
