I joined the team as a multimedia/curricular technologist in June of 2013. In my role at Middlebury I work with faculty, students and staff as they integrate technology use throughout the curriculum. I also supervise the digital media tutor program where we train and employ undergraduate students to assist with multimedia development projects. The tutor program serves as way to match student tutors with faculty interested in trying out new multimedia techniques in the classroom. Working with such a talented and creative group of students is a great inspiration and window into the “end user” view of our curricular projects.
Prior to arriving at the College I worked as an English teacher at the Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury. It was during this time that I began to focus my study on technology use in the classroom as well as assisting students to become aware of and cultivate their digital identities. Eportfolios are one area of interest. You can view mine here! I completed my M.Ed. at Northeastern University with a focus on eLearning and Instructional Design which gave me a unique view of educational technology from a student perspective. This experience has proven to be extremely valuable in my work.
One of the things I like best about my job is getting to talk to faculty about ideas they have for technology use in the classroom, so please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email if you’d like to meet to discuss a question or idea.
