TechKitchen: AI in Practice

DLINQ is hosting a TechKitchen, which encourages members of the Middlebury community to explore digital technologies under the guidance of DLINQ Interns. The format allows attendees to experiment with different tech “recipes”, involving various tools and software,in the Wilson Media Lab, LIB 220, in the Davis Family Library. Regardless of their technology experience, everyone is invited to partake in this innovative technological feast.

Jasper AI, a writing tool leveraging AI provides a solution for content creation, from blog posts to academic publications, will be available. The event will also incorporate a critical assessment of the use of ChatGPT and Perplexity in academic settings, seeking to explore their potential as teaching, learning, and research tools. These activities will focus on a range of topics, including the introduction of these AI tools, best practices for their integration in classrooms, and tangible examples of their application. Participants can expect discussion aimed at building their proficiency in leveraging these tools to enhance student learning and engagement. By the end of the event, attendees should have a solid understanding of how to effectively utilize these tools in their academic practices.

Registration is not necessary to attend, however we would like a head count so that we can plan the real human food. You do not need to be present for the entire event.
