Live, synchronous online classes in Zoom can be sites of active learning and participation. This session will explore pedagogical practices for using Zoom to teach synchronous classes. Topics will include:
- Collaboratively establishing norms of communication in the classroom
- Active learning ideas, including breakout rooms, group work, collaborative whiteboards, student presentations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions
- Alternatives to using the camera for participation and engagement
Please note: this workshop will focus on pedagogical practices, and familiarity with basic Zoom tools is a prerequisite for this workshop.
