Online via Zoom

Live, synchronous online classes in Zoom can be sites of active learning and participation. This session will explore pedagogical practices for using Zoom to teach synchronous classes. Topics will include:

  • Collaboratively establishing norms of communication in the classroom
  • Active learning ideas, including breakout rooms, group work, collaborative whiteboards, student presentations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions
  • Alternatives to using the camera for participation and engagement

Please note: this workshop will focus on pedagogical practices, and familiarity with basic Zoom tools is a prerequisite for this workshop.
