DLINQ successfully piloted Hypothes.is during the Fall 2020 academic term and has established an extension of our MOU for the Spring 2021 term. Led by Becky George from Hypothes.is, this workshop will include:
- discussion of how collaborative annotation with Hypothesis can be used to make student reading visible, active, and social
- demonstration of how teachers are using annotation-powered reading to empower student writing, helping students develop these foundational academic skills
- sharing effective pedagogical practices for collaborative annotation of course readings in Canvas and integrated with the Canvas gradebook
- discussion about how Hypothesis collaborative annotation can be used in specific disciplines and with their specific teaching and learning objectives.
Participants will have an opportunity to try out H+ in Canvas and can expect to come away from this session with a clear idea about how they can start incorporating collaborative annotation into their Canvas courses to improve student success.
