Wilson Media Lab, Davis Family Library (VT)
Online via Zoom

Helping people new to our communities (classrooms, student groups, teams) feel welcome and included is a key inclusive practice – and one that we often take for granted. But done casually, we can actually end up creating barriers to belonging, rather than an open and welcoming environment. In this panel, student groups from Midd and MIIS share concrete, intentional practices they’ve used to create a welcoming community. Come for conversation and connection, and to learn some new practices that you can use with your communities.

About the DLINQ Inclusive Design Studio

The Inclusive Design Studio (IDS) at DLINQ is an initiative launched by the Office of Digital Learning and Inquiry (DLINQ) in January 2019 that explores inclusive design through a critical, inquiry-based approach. It is an open initiative that seeks to be in community with students, faculty, staff, and anyone interested in working together to understand and work toward addressing the needs of people who are marginalized by design in its many forms. Find out more at the Inclusive Design Studio website.

Registration is only required for folks attending via Zoom. If you’ll be joining via Zoom, please register to be sent the Zoom link via email.
